Lambing Ate My Life

Author's note: Since the birth of the bottle lamb, I've been in serious sleep-deprivation mode, which has not only limited my writing time, but also has sort of squashed my creativity in general.... since I tend to discover that I'm staring off vaguely into space, gently hallucinating, rather than, say, composing a sentence. I apologize for the gap in posting and will try to get some sleep so I can get caught up here. I appreciate your patience... and as my last ewe just lambed successfully, I'm hoping that things are planning to settle down a bit soon, with a resultant upswing on the writing time. Meanwhile, I hear plaintive bleating, which I believe is meant to indicate that I should be in the kitchen making a lamb bottle RIGHT NOW....

Lambs...so cute and easy when things go well. So time consuming when they don't! Hang in there, sleep still does exist in some alternate universe!

I am so glad you are still alive and kicking! Was getting a wee bit worried and going through "Vet on the Edge" withdrawl.

Hang in there, sleep deprivation is a nasty thing!

Is there anyone here who didn't see that coming? lol I hope you are on intimate terms with sleep again very soon!! Until then, remember to look in the fridge, if you lose your keys. :\

Thanks for the update. Like BCxFour hinted at, I have to admit to searching for my Vet on the Edge fix more than a few times this week.

Glad to hear you are still moderately sane & can see a non-locomotive light at the end of the tunnel. Keep plugging, we're pulling for you every bit as much as that bottle lamb!

Pretty much presumed that this was the case - Bottle lamb, plus other ewes to lamb? No time... No time at all.

Carry on smartly - We'll still be here when you've caught up on your sleep.

Ahh...it's a lot like having a fussy, demanding newborn!

Hope you get some well-deserved sleep soon.

Sleep deprivation just sucks. I dno't do well at all when my sleep is messed up.

At least sheep babies sleep through the night a lot sooner than people babies!

Glad to know that things are basically ok!

Your description of your sleep patterns is giving me flashbacks to when my chidren were just a few weeks old! I firmly believe that a lot of post partum depression is simply good old fahioned sleep deprivation. You forget how amazing a good night sleep can make you feel! Glad to hear that you're still out there and hanging in...maybe a nap when you can?

Sleep deprivation...does it get any harder? Hope all settles down for you one of these days! It must feel like you have a newborn baby in your house!

Had any good sleep recently? Hope your bottle lamb is easing up on you.
