Beatings All Around

I just spent about 3 hours writing a looooong post for you all, only to have Blogger eat it when the internet connection went out. About 2 paragraphs were partially saved to the "drafts" folder - which I hate passionately, because it spaces every paragraph about 4 lines down from the previous one, and resists all attempts to correct that - but which would still have been better than losing the Entire. Freaking. Thing.

It's been a bitter struggle to find blogging time lately, let alone time that I have enough mental wherewithal to actually write something coherent and (with luck) worth reading. Kind of irritated that that many hours and that much effort just disappeared into thin air - especially as both are in short supply right now.

Let's all pretend it was the most fascinating post in the history of everything and you all loved it and found it transformed your lives for the better, okay?

Sigh.

Oh, well. I'll try again later. Meanwhile, if you read anything about the Blogger "drafts" function being visited by virtual goblins and made into electronic toothpixels, remember: It wasn't me. It was some other person we don't even know. They should look for him in Burundi, where he will be be choosing between tea and cake or death (served by Eddie Izzard, naturally.)

Sorry, guys!

Well, I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed hearing what you did on your summer vacation, and look forward to [much] more of the story soon!
Don't you just HATE it when the technology talks back! >:-(

I actually started reading it on Google Reader but then it just ended mid-sentence. I was disappointed because you were off to such a great start.

I love this post! Fascinating, captivating, and life-changing! Thank you so much!!!

How's that? lol

Sorry about your frustrations. As a fellow blogger, I understand. I use Wordpress and I love the auto-save draft feature there (no weird format changes.) Take a deep breath and try to relax. I look forward to reading your next entry, when you get around to it =)

That REALLY sucks! I've been hearing lots of bad things about Blogger lately. Next time I do a post, I think I'm going to do it in Word first, and then paste it onto the blog. :P Hope you update again soon - I'd love to hear what's going on with your book publishing gig!

Hear, hear!

Nice to see you posting, even if blogger is a pain in the behind! Maybe you could just give us who wait patiently (mostly) a few short stories. :D To tide us over, you know... lol

One really rotten thing to do is play the game "my pain is bigger than your pain". But my wife frequently reminds me that I'm not nice!

Therefore, "just think you could have been running for political office in Alaska yesterday"

@ Everyone: SNERK! Okay, thanks, guys, I feel better now.

Will give it another go soon; for those who started reading it, I'll try not to disappoint you with round two. The only way I could take down the partial post was to delete the draft, so I'll have to re-do from scratch and see if I can remember where I was and what I was on about.

Just FYI, it was the funniest thing ever seen on this earth, and everyone who read the complete post would have lost 10 pounds &/or looked 10 years younger, and unexpectedly won a Publisher's Clearinghouse sweepstakes, only the check would hae been delivered not by Ed McMahon, but by either Angelina Jolie in a bikini, or Johnny Depp dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, depending on one's preference.

I like whatever you post. You can even make disaster a good read.

I can wait.....

If you use firefox, I can highly recommend the Lazarus plugin, which makes it possible to recover any text in a form or textbox.
